Mary V. Heinz, 92, of Beech Grove, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at St. Paul Hermitage.

She was born in Washington, Ind., on March 23, 1921, to Bart and Emma Eisen Grannan. She was a graduate of Washington Catholic High School.

She married Raymond A. Heinz on Nov. 27, 1941, in St. Simon Church in Washington.

Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and formerly was a member of St. Joseph Church in Jasper and Sacred Heart Church in Vincennes.

She was an active volunteer at Memorial Hospital in Jasper and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella, Oblates of St. Benedict and the Legion of Mary.

Mary’s husband, Raymond, preceded her in death on April 7, 2006. She also was preceded in death by two grandsons, Scott Dickirson and Larry Meny; five brothers, Victor, Joseph and James Norbert, and John and Frank Grannan; and two sons-in-law, Jack Garrison and Jim Westfall.

Mary is survived by seven daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Garrison, Pat (Paul) Hagedorn, Donna (Paul) Meny, Dolores (Howard) Johnson, Marilyn Westfall, Jenny (Phil) Karst and Susan (Bruce) Armstrong; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Church, 334 N. Meridian St. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. (U.S. 31), Indianapolis, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
