William Bearl Burdine, 81, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Pulaski County, Ky., to the late Amel and Ada Burdine.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Murphy) Burdine; children, Sheryll (Mike) O’Leary and Mike (Debbie) Burdine; grandchildren, Heather (Scott), Heidi (Jeremy), Daniel and David; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Zoë, Nolan, Sophia, Nicholas, Colton and Garrett; brother, Jerry Burdine; sisters, Josephine Turner and Vivian Williams; and many friends.

Bearl retired after several years of employment at both Hygrade and Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Bearl will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
