Gary Alan Veach, 56, of Union, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Gary had been a substitute teacher for Greenwood Community School Corp. for 10 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a former Cub Master for Cub Scouts Pack No. 55, a coach for Englewood Little League and active with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Gary loved traveling and going to concerts and was an avid sports fan. Above all, Gary’s love was his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lois (Koch) Veach; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Kristofer Fox of Loveland, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Mary Anne Veach of Georgia; brother, Mark Veach of Indiana; sister, Esta (Tom) Ott of Indiana; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Madalyn, Monica, Connor, Colton and Baby Veach; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Ann Koch of Dublin, Ohio; brother-in-law, Richard Koch of Dublin, Ohio; sister-in-law, Lynn Temple of Florida; lifelong best friend, Raymond “Bud” Allen of Indiana; nieces; nephews; relatives; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Jr. and Esta (Buchanan) Veach; and brother-in-law, Jim Temple.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Kindred Funeral Home, 400 Union Blvd., Englewood, Ohio, with the Rev. George Sidwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
