Irene Harvey Kendall
Irene Harvey Kendall, 101, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013, in Franklin. She is a resident of the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a former resident of Carmel.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1911, in Westfield, to Arland and Etta (Laudig) Harvey.
She married Marcus E. Kendall on Jan. 1, 1979. He preceded her in passing on Nov. 24, 1992.
Survivors include stepdaughters, Maxine Featherston of Angola and Eileen Kitchens of Carmel; nieces, Donna Evans and Dorcas Henry; nephew, Donald Harvey; seven stepgrandchildren; 15 great-stepgrandchildren; and one great-great-stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband; Marcus; and brother, Warren Harvey.
She was a graduate of Carmel High School and Indiana Business College.
Irene was employed by Foster-Kendall Co. for 35 years as a secretary and bookkeeper and later employed by Indiana Mills, which was then located in Carmel.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church; the Priscilla Circle and the Fine Arts Group of Johnson County.
The Rev. John Eley will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Monday at the Franklin United Methodist Community, Wright Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin. Friends may call from noon until service Monday at the Wright Chapel. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Carmel Cemetery in Carmel.
Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin is handling arrangements.
