Ruth Kathryn Smith Wilson
Ruth Kathryn Smith Wilson, 88, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab.
The daughter of John and Floy Hazel Roeschlein Smith, Ruth was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Sugar Ridge Township in Clay County.
For several years, Ruth worked as a clerk in retail and was a supervisor with Indiana Bell Telephone Co.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, crafting, crocheting, and playing cards and bingo and was an avid photographer.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Judy Wilson of Greenwood; grandchildren, Mike Wilson of Franklin and Lisa (Todd) Nichols of Greenwood; and nieces, Carla Bowden and Vicki Grecio, both of Louisiana.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil O. Wilson; a son, Bob Wilson; two brothers, Harvey and Bob Smith; and a sister, Betty Wagoner.
Pastor Martin Bornhoeft will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
