Theodore “Dude” Rund
Theodore “Dude” Rund, 90, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 17, 1923, in Stones Crossing, Greenwood to Theodore and Alma (Stanton) Rund.
He married Josie (Stephens) Rund on April 18, 1980, and she survives.
He was a graduate of Center Grove High School and was a former member of Mount Auburn United Methodist Church in Stones Crossing.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and golfing.
He was a homebuilder for over 25 years and farmed in Johnson County for over 40 years.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the European theater.
Survivors include his wife, Josie (Stephens) Rund of Franklin; two sons, Michael (Becky) Vest of Nineveh and Mark Vest of Noblesville; three daughters, Cindy (Sam, deceased) Osborn of Bloomington, Peggy (Bruce) Ten Brink of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Michelle (Travis) Hayes of Franklin; and two sisters Jane (Johnny, deceased) Maddrill of Greenwood and Ann (Jim) Dixon of Prairie, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Helen Williams and Jean Dawson.
The Rev. Justin Surface will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin with military honors. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the service time on Friday at the mortuary.
