Albert Lowe, 80, a lifelong resident of Clark Township, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
He was born Dec. 8, 1929, at the family farm in Clark Township, to Albert Franklin Lowe and Helen Irene (Gaston) Lowe. He was a 1947 graduate of Clark Township High School and a lifelong member of Community Congregational Church in Franklin. He was a farmer for his entire life in Clark Township, where he also had a peach, apple and cherry orchard. He enjoyed flower gardening. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Sasabo, Japan, as a medical technician.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, June and Fred Bradley of Franklin; five nieces and nephews, Terri Lynn (Mark) Higgins and Greg (Kathy) Irwin, both of Indianapolis and Lisa Lee (Terry) Chandler, Diana Sue (Glenn) Chandler and Jeffery (Gretchen) Bradley, all of Clark Township; a brother-in-law, Hubert Irwin of Indianapolis; and 10 great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alan Lowe; and a sister; Eva Irwin.
Pastor Art Stratton will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from noon until service time Monday at the mortuary. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
