Floyd Maxie Wilson
Floyd Maxie “Max” Wilson, 89, died Monday, April 1, 2013, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Trafalgar.
Max was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Sumner County, Tenn. to William and Alice (Mitchell) Wilson. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He married Virginia Landers on Sept. 6, 1947, in Kentucky; they were married for 65 years.
He was employed as a machinist at General Motors for 35 years, retiring in 1988.
Max enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and building things.
He was a retired pastor of the New Harmony General Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Wilson of Franklin; five children, William David (Dee) Wilson of Muncie, Donald (Sherrie) Wilson of Indianapolis, Stanley (Paquita) Wilson of Arizona, Maxie (Lisa) Wilson of Lawrence and Lorrie Stewart of Trafalgar; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe and Ernest Wilson; and four sisters, Gladys Smith, Ezmer Neal, Bea Campbell and Zeffie Austin.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Jessen Funeral Home, Trafalgar Chapel, 800 W. Pearl St. Visitation was Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
