David "Cookie" Hancook
David “Cookie” Hancook, 70, passed away at his residence in Greenwood on Monday, March 25, 2013.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1942, in Plainfield to Julius W. and Vera Mae (Fulton) Hancook. Dave attended elementary school in Plainfield and graduated from Franklin High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army, worked at Mallory Capacitor Co. in Indianapolis and later retired from NSK Precision Products in Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a son, Sean (Jamie) Hancook; a daughter, Heather (Casey) Agresta; three granddaughters, Mallory, Adrienne and Josephine; and a brother, Ronnie (Sharon) Hancook.
Dave was a devoted grandfather, father and friend. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, golfing, IU basketball and visiting with friends and was always telling a good joke.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at The Gardens at Olive Branch in Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
