Onieda Clements

Onieda Clements, 79, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 21, 1933, in Casey County, Ky., to Adam and Sally (Lay) Adkins. She married William Glen Clements on June 15, 1954; and he preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2004.

She worked for the Varynit garment factory, Morgan canning factory and the Indiana Masonic Home, all in Franklin, for many years.

She enjoyed spending family time with her children and grandchildren and gatherings on Sunday. She enjoyed her Red Hat sisters, playing cards with friends and gospel music.

Survivors include her children, Glen Dale Clements of Franklin, JoAnn (John) Hash of Greenwood, and David Russell (Dawn) Clements, William Ray (Sherry) Clements and Brenda Sue Inabnitt, all of Whiteland; 11 grandchildren, Janelle and Johnny Hash, Alicia Smallwood, Sarah Webb, Christopher and Natalie Clements, Dustin, Jackson and Sydney Clements, Jason Inabnitt and Ashlee Inabnitt Harris; and 12 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Nicholas, Logan, Jayden, Kingston, Kenya, Austin, Hayley, Scott, Chris, Braden and Brock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Carter Braxton Clements.

The Rev. Stan Icenogle will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Monday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made to CartersWishFoundation.org in memory of Carter Braxton Clements, late grandson of Glen and Onieda Clements; or the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
