Regenia “Gina” Spaw Hash Dukate
Regenia “Gina” Spaw Hash Dukate, 74, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2013, at her residence in Franklin.
She was born Jan. 29, 1939, in Liberty, Ky., to Clayton and Ova (Chapman) Spaw.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy, and husband, Jim Reese, of Franklin; two grandchildren, Ashley Reese (Bryan) Gregg of Southport and Michael (Katie) Reese of Bargersville; longtime companion, Ed Porter of Franklin; two sisters, Essie Workman of Franklin and Betty (Jim) Weddle of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Clyde Cox of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; and siblings, Vernon Spaw, Frances Kinnick, Esther Purdy, Ray Spaw, Louise Cox, George Spaw, Marita Spaw, Clifford Spaw and an infant brother.
She attended Sentinel Schools in Kentucky.
Gina was employed by the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. She later was employed by Western Electric in Indianapolis and Oklahoma, retiring after many years in 1986.
She was a member of Franklin Memorial Christian Church and the Franklin American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post No. 205.
Gina so enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She loved gardening, her animals, water skiing, NASCAR racing and her many trips to Las Vegas.
The Rev. Larry McAdams will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Friday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
