Emory E. ‘ED’ Johnson
Emory E. “ED” Johnson, 66, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was a resident of Greenwood.
He was born March 29, 1946, in Berwind, W. Va., to the late Riley E. and Pansy E. (Hackney) Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Terri Johnson; children, Trena (Mark) Welch and Eddie W. Johnson; grandchildren, Brandon Welch, Britney (Robert) Lofton and Joe Biggers Jr.; great-grandson, Noah Lofton; stepchildren, Christopher (Nikki) Sullender, Tracie (Jeremy) Rhynearson, Brandie (Jason) Somerville, Debbie Stanley and Donna (Jimmy) Bullock; eight stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Pat) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Junior Johnson.
ED was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he later retired from Dayton Freight Lines. He was a member of National Rifle Association and ABATE of Indiana. ED enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and friends, and he adored his lovely wife, “Sugie.”
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
