Juanita (Smith) Flory, 85, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at her residence in Franklin.
Juanita was born July 2, 1927, in Cane Valley, Ky. She attended school there and graduated from Columbia High School in 1947.
After graduating, she moved to Franklin, where she worked for several companies, including Morris 5&10 and Hougland Packing Co.
She married Norman O. Flory at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., in 1954. They lived in several states including Alaska, during her husband’s career in the U.S. Army.
After Norman’s retirement, they returned to Franklin to live. She was employed at Morgan Packing Co. and retired from the Fashion Shop in Greenwood.
Juanita enjoyed reading, yard work and being neighborly and was a history buff. She loved cats and always had them in her home.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Franklin.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth (Randy Rodgers) Zellars of Franklin; two grandsons, Josh Lee (Bethanie) Zellars of Indianapolis and Joe Charles (Darcy) Flory of Texas; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman O. Flory Sr.; a son, Norman O. Flory Jr.; her mother, Miranda E. (Smith) Eastwood; and her stepfather, John Eastwood.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel, 197 E. Jefferson St. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
