Frank V. Knoll, 85, of Indianapolis and formerly of Greencastle passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1927, in Madison, to Frank V. Knoll and Mildred E. (Still) Knoll.
Frank retired from Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors where he was a production general foreman.
He was a member of the VFW Post No. 1550, American Legion Post 58, Capital City Conservation Club, and a life member of the Moose Lodge and had attained the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Kathy Knoll; stepbrother, Ron Padgett and his first wife, Marilyn L. Knoll.
Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Erma; his children, Donna Pickard of Franklin, Frank V. Knoll Jr. and wife, Debra of Indianapolis, Charles Knoll and wife, Ann Marie of Indianapolis, David Knoll of Gulfport, Fla. and Kathy Ogawa and husband, Derrick of Avon; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home in Greencastle with Dave Clayton officiating. Interment with honors will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery in Greencastle. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a Moose Service at 7 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
