James Henry “Red” Hooper, Sr., 80, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Irene (Dickens) Hooper; four sons, Terry Wayne Hooper of Indianapolis, James Henry Hooper, Jr. of Avon, William Johnny Hooper of Greenwood, and Larry Eugene Hooper of Kokomo; two daughters, Brenda Gail Smith and Karen Lynn Sullivan, both of Indianapolis; two brothers, Millard Hooper of Harrison, Tenn., and Cordell Hooper of Pensacola, Fla.; 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Naomi (Glasgow) Ewing.

Calling will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, followed by a 1 p.m. service time.
