Sally F. Kempf
Sally F. Kempf, 81, of Greenwood, passed Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Birdseye to the late Samuel and Lula (Spraggins) Atkins. She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
Sally retired from L.S. Ayres and Co. after 18 years of service as a Diamond Star associate.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, making ceramics and raising roses and truly cherished time spent with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband, Norbert H. Kempf; five children, Donna (Garry) Scholz, Randy Joe (Luanne) Kempf, Nena (Dan) Gayer-Wheat, David (Gail) Kempf and DeAnna (John) Kempf Wermert; a brother, Floyd (Janet) Atkins; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, Doris Earlene Merkley, Jesse Stillman Atkins and Stanley Atkins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135 at Olive Branch Road. She will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home.
