Terry Darwin Smith
Terry Darwin Smith, 63, passed away on Jan. 29, 2013. He was a resident of Dunnellon, Fla.
He was born Sept. 3, 1949, in Columbus to the late John Herman Smith and Juanita (Smith) Sadler.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Intille) Smith; three children, Rebecca Porterfield, Melissa Putman and Christine Emore; a stepson, David Smith; a brother, Gary Smith; a sister, Darlene Smith; and six grandchildren.
He was a 1967 graduate of Edinburgh Community High School and attended Purdue University briefly before leaving to serve his country in the U.S. Navy as a medical corpsman. He later graduated from DeVry University in Chicago, with a degree in computer technology.
He was an avid military history enthusiast and enjoyed science-fiction movies, 1960s music, Disney World and working with computers. He loved to play the guitar and in his youth performed in several bands. He spent his last years in Dunnellon, Fla., and derived great pleasure in watching his grandson, Bobby, play baseball.
He was dearly loved and will be equally missed.
At his request there will be no calling or funeral. Cremation is entrusted to the Florida Cremation Society.
