Steven Wayne Snyder, 64, of Franklin, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born Jan. 19, 1949, in Wabash to William E. and Margie (Evans) Snyder.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky (Leach) Snyder, whom he married Sept. 9, 1967.
Other survivors include his devoted companion, Sharleen Tharpe of Franklin; children, Susan Snyder of Shelbyvile; three stepchildren, Gary Tharpe of Trafalgar, Cathy Perkins of Brown County and Bobbi Jo Luttrell of Brown County; one sister, Sandra B. (Joe) Orlando of Akron, Ohio; two half brothers, William Snyder and James Snyder, both of Paducah, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Tonya Snyder.
He was an industrial manager at Chrysler Corp of Indianapolis and Kokomo, retiring in 2008.
He graduated from Greenwood Community High School in 1967.
He attended Bible Holiness Church in Shelbyville.
He loved golfing, old cars and was an avid Civil War buff.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
