William Monroe Cook
Mr. William Monroe Cook, 87, of Franklin, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the Franklin United Methodist Community.
He was born Dec. 14, 1925, in Harrisburg, Ill., a son of Harry and Letha (Scott) Cook.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley R. Cook; one son, Terrence M. (Deborah) Cook; one daughter, Mary Jane (Arlen) Packard; a sister-in-law, Sandy Pike; a brother-in-law, James Harry Cagle; two grandchildren, Christina (Jeff) Trowbridge and Kimberlee (Paul) Eckstein; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Letha B. Thomas and Harriet J. Cagle; and a brother-in-law, Gene Thomas.
Bill served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Lions Club and Rotary and was a Methodist lay speaker.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Franklin United Methodist Community, Wright Memorial Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St. The Rev. David Owens will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the chapel.
