Thomas O. Staples
Mr. Thomas O. Staples, 84, of Greenwood, passed away Jan. 28, 2013.
He was born Aug. 14, 1928, in St. Clair Shores, Mich., a son of William and Virginia (Farmer) Staples.
He married Norma Jean Dillman on May 18, 1991. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Grasso, Susan Davis and Jill (Jimmy) Lester; and two stepchildren, Jeff (Trisha) Dillman and Christina Oldham. Siblings include five brothers, Robert (Ruth) Staples, Jim Staples, Donn (Meltina) Staples, Jerry Staples and Steve Staples; and one sister, Carole (John) Hill. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Carlo Grasso, and Ashley and Amber Davis; and six stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Mark Alexander Davis.
Tom served our country in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the American Legion and a former real estate broker.
He retired from Rolls-Royce Allison after 61 years of service.
He was a former member of Advent Lutheran Church and also Abundant Grace Lutheran Church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel.
