W.C. ‘Sam’ Hendershott

W.C. “Sam” Hendershott, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

Born Jan. 10, 1919, to the late Samuel and Grace Hendershott, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

He retired in 1985 from Stewart Warner after 47 years.

Sam cherished time spent with his children and grandsons.

His hobbies included golfing, fishing, woodwork and yard work.

He was a very active member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two children, Paula (Lew) Fisk and Philip (Corina) Hendershott; two grandsons, Brian (Lisa) Fisk and Sam Hendershott; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlee and Evan Fisk.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Swoboda) Hendershott on July 15, 2003.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6111 S. Shelby St., Indianapolis, followed by the funeral at noon. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Arrangements were entrusted to  G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home.
