After battling pancreatic cancer for five years, Robert Galloway, 44, of Orange Park, Fla., passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at home with his wife and son by his side.
Rob was born in July 1968 in New York and grew up in Wrexham, North Wales and Hereford, United Kingdom.
Rob served in the U.S. Air Force, earned his commercial pilot’s license and worked in the aviation field.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Olive.
Rob leaves behind his beloved wife, Erikka Stocker Galloway, and son, Nicholas, of Gainesville, Fla., and Franklin; a sister, Rosemary Galloway of Greenville, S.C.; and his father, Philip Galloway, and stepmother, Charlene Galloway, of Martin, Ga.
Rob will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 550 NE 16th Ave., Gainesville, Fla., with Father Roland Julien as celebrant. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the church. Graveside services will follow in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, Fla.
Arrangements are under the care of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home West Area, 823 NW 143rd St., Gainesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to help fund Nicholas’ education. Donations can be sent to Nicholas Galloway, 2445 N. Morton St., Franklin, IN 46131.
