James S. Pass
James S. Pass, 67, of Edinburgh, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
He was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Whiteland to the late Edwin Pass and Maymie (Issacs) Pass.
He married Berneice Marie (Linville) Pass on June 3, 1971. She survives.
Other survivors include five children, Shawn Christopher Pass of Prince’s Lakes, James Eric Pass, Debra Ann (Archie) Taflinger and Sandra Marie Carman, both of Edinburgh, and Kathy Lynn (Jerry) Harris of Louisville, Ky.; four siblings, Joe Pass of Texas, Tom Pass of Edinburgh, Carol (Bill) Volt of Indianapolis and Ruth (Ken) Long of Greenwood; longtime friend, Maurice Caudill of Greenwood; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert William Popplewell; and a brother, John Pass.
He was a graduate of Whiteland Community High School and a member of St. George Lutheran Church in Edinburgh.
He retired from Milestone Contractors in Indianapolis.
He loved spending time with family, watching westerns, working puzzles, gardening and helping people.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. George Lutheran Church, 10931 S. County Road 600W, Edinburgh, with Pastor Jerry Curry officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh, and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at St. George Cemetery in Edinburgh.
