Don Hardwick, 65, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at his residence.
He was born March 26, 1947, in Harriman, Tenn., to Arlis G. and Bessie (Hamby) Hardwick. He married Sue Ellen (Kirts) Hardwick on Dec. 19, 1971, in Nashville; and she survives.
Mr. Hardwick was a tool-and-die maker for Arvin Industries in Franklin and Ogilville for 34 years and then worked for Overton Carbide Tool and Die Engineers in Franklin for seven years, retiring in 2007.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Deer Valley Golf Course, where he was a member of the men’s league.
He was a Vietnam War veteran and was a member of Franklin American Legion Post.
He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.
He was a man of the Lord and was strong in his faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Ellen (Kirts) Hardwick of Franklin; a daughter, Krissy S. Hardwick of Franklin; a grandson, Tully Hardwick-McKee of Franklin; his father, Arlis G. Hardwick of Franklin; a brother, Daryl (Deborah) Hardwick of Frankfort, Ill.; an aunt, Rema Jong of Greenwood; a niece, Linsey Hardwick of Frankfort, Ill.; and several cousins.
The Revs. John Young and Doug Weddle will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31) in Franklin. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
