Alice Marie Pittman
Alice Marie Pittman, 84, of Greenwood, passed away Jan. 9, 2013, at Franklin Meadows Nursing Home.
She married George L. Pittman on Jan. 12, 1946. He preceded her in death Feb. 3, 2012, after 66 years of marriage.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gospel music and singing.
She was a member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple, where she was involved in the seniors group.
She was a fabulous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was an advocate for her grandchildren.
She loved being around people.
Survivors include a son, Gary L. Pittman of Greenwood; two brothers, John (Joann) Pittman of Franklin and Richard (Dee) Pittman of Indianapolis; a sister, Alma Jean DeWees of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer Clark) Biehn of Greenwood, Richard (Brittany) Biehn of Avon and Alicia (Kenny Eskridge) Manzano of Beech Grove; four great-grandchildren, Kelsi Biehn, Emma Noelle Biehn, Maizey Biehn and Elizabeth Biehn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Marsha Pittman Biehn (on Oct. 4, 2007).
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31) in Franklin. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
