Jeremy Scott Gerton
Jeremy Scott Gerton, 39, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at his residence in Franklin.
He was born Dec. 5, 1973, in Johnson County to Richard Gerton and Debbie (Whitaker) Gerton Norman.
Jeremy is survived by his mother, Debbie Norman, and stepfather, Bob Norman; a daughter, Haylee Mathena; a sister, J.J. Hinton; nephews, Jake and Sam Hinton; grandmother, Rosemary Whitaker; uncle and aunt, Randy and Carol Whitaker; aunt and uncle, Regina and Rich Hine; uncle, Jim Gerton; uncle and aunt, Thom and Kathy Gerton; and many cousins.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Richard Gerton; grandfather, Delford Whitaker; and grandparents, Larry and Lawanna Gerton.
He attended Whiteland Community schools and was a 1992 graduate of Southwestern High School in Shelby County. Jeremy attended classes at Ivy Tech Community College and IUPUI.
Jeremy was employed by Manpower.
He was a member of Franklin Memorial Christian Church.
Jeremy enjoyed softball, baseball and bowling.
He enjoyed listening to music. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his daughter, Haylee, and his family.
The Rev. Larry McAdams will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Friday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery near Franklin.
