Robert Eugene Day, 64, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in Greenwood. He was a resident of Whiteland.
Robert was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Lenoir, N.C., to Joseph and Edna (Clark) Day.
He married Janet Clodfelter on Oct. 22, 1971, in Acton. They were married for 41 years. He was employed with the Whiteland Community School Corp. as a custodian.
He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, fishing, golfing, listening to music, hunting mushrooms and watching movies. He loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Day of Whiteland; three children, Robert E. (Kim) Day Jr. of Camby, Michael W. (Melissa) Day of Greenwood and Angela C. Day of Whiteland; two brothers, Jim (Linda) Day of Kentucky and William Robinson Jr. of North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Sean A. Day, Isabella M. Day and Maddison N. Day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joseph Day Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hebron Cemetery in Russellville.
