Grace L. “Corky” Talbott
Grace L. “Corky” Talbott, 83, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012. She was a resident of Mooresville.
She was born Aug. 4, 1929, to the late Harold Downey and Ruth Bauer Downey. She graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School in 1943 and St. Mary Academy in 1947.
She went directly to work for Indiana Bell, retiring in 1985.
She married A.E. “Jack” Talbott Sr. in 1951; and he preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1996.
She was a former member of the Mooresville/Plainfield/Martinsville Civil Air Patrol.
Corky loved fishing, playing cards, working crossword puzzles and planting flowers.
She also was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Martha Bauer; uncle, Irvin Bauer; aunt, Irene Pierson; sister, Margie Lee; and her namesake, aunt Grace Bauer Gibson.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Kathy) Talbott Jr.; a sister, Jackie (the late Bob) Mouser; two granddaughters, Johanna (Dewey) Bastin and Katrina Kimbler Church; a grandson, Johnny Kimbler; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a sister-in-law, Barbara (the late Roy) Beaton.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis.
Memorial donations may be made to one of Corky’s favorite charities, The Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741-5000.
