Della Jean Rhodes, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Edinburgh.
She was born Feb. 5, 1938, in Adair County, Ky., to the late Ray Burton and Mary Bell (Burton) Burton.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Herman Coates, who died Feb. 3, 1958; and Norman E. Rhodes, who died July 2, 2011.
Survivors include her child, Donna (Bob) Moore of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Brad Phelps of Edinburgh and Nikki (John) Brodbeck of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Kolby and Raya Davis and Arianna, Abby and Joscelyne Phelps; and five siblings, Wayman (Judy) Burton, Irma Pendleton, Nelma Land, Elzana Reed and Teresa Van Why, all of Edinburgh.
She also was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Katlin Phelps; and three brothers Howard Ralph, Hyman and Herman Burton.
She was a charter member of Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to yard sales, sewing and reading.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church, 1010 S. Main St., with the Rev. Guy Hardin officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
