Wallace Paul “Wally” Tames, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012. He was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Wanamaker.
He was born in Indianapolis on Feb. 8, 1927. He was employed as a bookbinder and later as a mechanic on forklifts and golf carts.
Wally is survived by three sons, Larry (Bev), Paul and Steve Tames; three daughters, Cheryl Stephens, Terri Gentile and Marsha Allen; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; a son, John; his parents, Everett and Frieda Tames; two sisters, Nancy and Gladys; and two brothers, John and Richard.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Stirling-Gerber Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
