Marvin Lee Wheeler

Marvin Lee Wheeler, 91, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born Aug. 22, 1921, to the late Clyde Johnson Wheeler and Lilly Mae (Turner) Wheeler.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the South Pacific.

Marvin contributed both his time and donations to The Salvation Army. He helped the sheriff’s department of West Palm Beach, Fla., start a special ranch for kids. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

He worked for Keesling Electric in Franklin for 23 years before moving to Florida in 1970. He retired from Saint Andrews and Saint James Residence Apartments in West Palm Beach, Fla., after 20 years of employment there.

Marvin is survived by his children, Bruce (Carla) Wheeler, Bobbi (Allan) McKee, George (Joy) Wheeler and daughter-in-law, Susan Wheeler; his grandchildren, Tehya Wheeler, Jay (Kat) Wheeler, Chris (Kandace) Wheeler, Daniel Wheeler, April (Greg) Pope, Sheilah (Jeremy) Kean, Adam (Carrie) McKee, George (Rebecca) Wheeler Jr., Gregory Wheeler, Joshua (Alex) Wheeler, Eddie (Trista) Wheeler, Donna (Stephen) Wheeler, Eric Wheeler, Christopher Wheeler and James Wheeler; and 24 great-grandchildren with another on the way.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Wheeler; sisters, Esther Grooms and Marydale Hart; and brother, Clyde J. Wheeler Jr.

Arrangements have been entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135 at Olive Branch Road. Marvin will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
