Dianna Jeanne (Service) Matlock
Dianna Jeanne (Service) Matlock, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was the daughter of Harry C. Service Jr. and Barbara Mitchell Service.
She married Harold Wayne Matlock on Aug. 5, 1978. He lovingly survives in Franklin.
Dianna also is survived by her son, Bryan C. (Khristina) Epperson of Bargersville; daughter, Brandi D. Epperson of Franklin; son, Brad A. (Christy) Epperson of Franklin; mother, Barbara Bechman of Franklin; brothers, Robert Kevin Service of Edinburgh and Gary N. Service of Franklin; sister, Judith A. Service of Franklin; stepbrothers, David (Debbie) Ludwig of Lee’s Summit, Miss.; Steve (Vicki) Ludwig of Lafayette; Pat (Rhonda) Ludwig of Greenfield; Alan (Beth) Ludwig of Salem, Wis.; C. William Bechman of Riverdale, N.Y.; and stepbrother, James Bechman of Hanover; and seven adoring grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her father, Harry C. Service Jr.; stepfather, Nelson H. Ludwig; and stepfather, Charles Bechman.
Dianna was a 1968 graduate of Franklin Community High School.
She worked for many years with Johnson County Special Services and Franklin Community School Corporation.
She also worked many years as the manager of The Community Newsstand (Hallmark Store) in Franklin.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Dianna fought a determined and inspired battle against her cancer. Never complaining and always taking a positive attitude, she left those around her in admiration of her courage. Dianna passed away peacefully at 2:36 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was full of life and devoted herself to loving and cherishing her seven grandchildren. She will be sorely missed and forever loved.
Martha Waas will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Friday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dianna’s name may be made to Johnson County Special Services, 500 Earlywood Drive, Franklin, IN 46131.
