Ruth Louise (Whiteman) Scott
Ruth Louise (Whiteman) Scott, loving wife, mother and grandmother — Proverbs 31:10.
On Friday morning, Nov. 30, 2012, Ruth Louise (Whiteman) Scott departed this life to go home to the Lord. She passed away peacefully at her home, in the company of her son and daughter, at the age of 92. Ruth was a resident of Greenwood for 64 years.
She was born in Anderson on Nov. 18, 1920. Ruth was the fourth child of six siblings born to the late William and Mary (Carmichael) Whiteman. She was a 1938 graduate of Wilkinson High School and went on to marry her sweetheart of 50 years, Hubert I. Scott on Nov. 18, 1938, in Indianapolis.
Ruth’s true passion was in doing God’s work as a caring and compassionate person to everyone. Her generous and loving heart, smile and spirit were a blessing to everyone whom she knew or met.
She enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States with her husband and family.
Ruth is now at peace and filled with joy for all eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Carol Caudill; her son, Gary (Jan) Scott; and grandchildren, Cara (Paul) Pyle and Ryan J. Scott, all of Greenwood.
The Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Monday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Ruth will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Ruth to the Greenwood Christian Church, 2045 Averitt Road, Greenwood, IN 46143.
