Ching “Spring” Chuan Chiu Liang
Ching “Spring” Chuan Chiu Liang lost her 4½-year battle with colon cancer Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, surrounded by her husband, children and friends.
Spring was born in Ping Tung, Taiwan, on June 7, 1958, to Chiu Ying Qian and Lee Tuan Jan. In her homeland, she graduated from high school and worked as a nurse’s aide.
She married Chuen Mod “John” Liang on Jan. 30, 1986, in Ping Tung, when she moved to America with her husband to begin a new life.
In America, John and Spring owned Szechwan Garden restaurant in Greenwood for 19 years until Spring’s illness. During that time they made many friends in the community who will miss her dearly. Spring’s smile and caring heart were treasured by those who knew her.
Spring is survived by her husband, John; and her children, Susan, Lily, Ava, Katie and Evan Liang, all of Greenwood. She also leaves her mother; two sisters, Chui Shu Fang and Chui Ting Fang; and a brother, Chui Hua Shen, all in Taiwan.
She was predeceased by her father.
A private family viewing is scheduled for Friday. A public memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairfield Friends Meeting in Camby, the Quaker meeting in which her children grew up. Directions to the church may be found at www.fairfieldfriends.org.
