Ellen Mae Grier, of Greenwood, passed away at the age of 97 on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. She was a former resident of Washington.
She was born in Vinton, Iowa, on Feb. 2, 1915. She was married to Paul Grier, who preceded her in death.
Ellen is survived by a daughter, Jane McClure of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Kyle Huber (Jeff) of Troy, Mich., Chris Walter (Dave) of Kendallville, Lindsay McClure of Greenwood and Laurie Fabina (Chris) of Atlanta, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren, Margaret and Leland Huber of Troy, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Grier; her parents, Emmett and Retta Porter; a brother, Leland Porter; a sister, Mildred Porter; and a daughter, Judith Copple.
Ellen enjoyed sewing, gardening and decorating. She was a member of First Christian Church in Washington.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St., Washington. Visitation will be from noon until time of service today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington.

Ellen will be missed by all and will forever be in our hearts.
