Billy Lee Davis

Billy Lee Davis, 83, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Parke County to Albert and Mamie (Myers) Davis.

He married Deloris (Lee) Davis on Oct. 5, 1956. She survives in Franklin.

Other survivors include a son, Billy Lee (Tamra) Davis Jr.; daughters, Diane Yrttima and Debbie (Ernie) Ruddick; brother, Dale Davis; sister, Pat Robinson; grandchildren, Melody (Blake), Joe, Erin, Zeb, Zack, Tish, Cody, Emily; and great-grandchild, Kash.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; son-in-law, Frank Yrttima; brother, Albert Davis Jr.; and sisters, Wanda Jones, Wilma Rennick, Sue Johnson and Mary Holland.

Billy was a welder at Wabco in Indianapolis for many years. He later was employed by Arvin Industries in Franklin for 10 years. He worked at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 50 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and bowling. He truly enjoyed the many years he spent at IMS.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donors’ charity of choice.
