Henry ‘Ron’ Rohlfing
Henry “Ron” Rohlfing, 74, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, as a result of injuries sustained in a fall.
Born March 22, 1938, in Indianapolis to the late Henry and Marguerite Rohlfing, he grew up on the west side of Indianapolis and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Ron was a machinist and retired from IPL. He previously had worked at Indianapolis Drop Forging as a dye maker.
His hobbies included any constructive projects, gardening, playing in the dirt and spending time with his family.
He was a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church and I.B.E.W. Local 1391.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Phyllis (Brehob) Rohlfing; children, son, John (Julie) Rohlfing and their children, Alyson, Maggie, Katie and Evan of Kokomo, daughter, Paula (Gary) Workman and their children, Jana, Kristen, Rachel, Matt and Jake of the San Antonio, Texas, area, daughter Eva (Lucas) Allen and their children, Wolfe, Judah and Willa of Bloomington and Chris (Amiee) Rohlfing of Morgantown; his brother, James Eric “Buddy” Rohlfing; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with additional visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service. He will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Glenns Valley, where military graveside rites will be conducted.
