Ruth E. Coughenour Cox
Ruth E. Coughenour Cox, 89, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.
The daughter of William and Bessie Love Coughenour, Ruth was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Wellsville, Kan.
Ruth was a member of Community Church of Greenwood and Taylor University Alumni Association.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Taylor University.
She was a retired medical assistant in Dr. Robert Robinson’s office.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Paul R. (Kay T.) Cox and David W. (Dawn Elrod) Cox; two daughters, Kathleen M. (David R.) Starling and Esther R. (Alan J.) Latino; a sister, Eleanor L. (Robert) Hunt; a sister-in-law, Beulah M. Coughenour; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert L. Cox; an infant son, Paul Douglas Cox; and a brother, Dr. J. Robert Coughenour.
Memorial services conducted by the Revs. Jack Haun and Steve Czajkowski will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Community Church of Greenwood, 1477 W. Main St., where family will receive friends after the service. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cox Family Scholarship at Taylor University.
Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting with arrangements.
