Lorraine H. Weintraut
Lorraine H. Weintraut, 87, of LaGrange, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Miller’s Merry Manor in LaGrange.
She was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Moreland, Ky., to Arstola and Erma (Ellis) Hall. She married Leo E. Weintraut Jr. in Indianapolis on Feb. 25, 1944. Together they owned and operated a farm in Shelby County. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaGrange and a past member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin, where she was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue and Kenneth Velie of LaGrange; two sisters, Marie Elkins and Wilma Stainbrook, both of Franklin; one niece, Karen Newport of Indianapolis; three nephews, Jack and Debbie Stainbrook Jr. of New Whiteland, and Joseph Elkins and Ronald Stainbrook, both of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Norma Orelak and Margie Hall; three brothers-in-law, Louis Elkins, Stanley Orelak and Jack Stainbrook Sr.; and one nephew, Charles Stainbrook.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, with the Rev. John Beitams officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
Memorials may be given to the local animal shelter of LaGrange, Shelby or Johnson County.
