Jennifer Michelle Chastain and Jeffrey James Schneider, both of Seymour, were married 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg.

She is the daughter of Melvin and Betty Chastain of Seymour; he is the son of Maggie Schneider of Seymour and the late James “Jim” Schneider.

The bride wore a gown of white silk taffeta. The bodice, with a strapless sweetheart neckline, featured ruching, which draped down the front of the gown flowing into the train. Her veil was edged with pearl and crystal lace, handmade by family friend Judy McKain.

Tamara Hamp, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sara Johnson; Jan Belk; Andrea Chastain the bride’s

sister-in-law; Madelyn Hamp; the bride’s niece; and Brooklyn Schneider, the groom’s daughter.

The attendants wore knee-length dresses from the Alfred Sung Dessy collection in aquamarine peau de soie, each choosing her favorite style.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with a diamond white vest and tie.

Mike Kiel was best man;. Groomsmen were Chadd Sutherland; Chris Schaefer; Curt Fleetwood; Blake Schneider, the groom’s son and Sajin Smith, nephew of the groom.

Ushers were Brian Chastain, the bride’s brother; Kameron Chastain, the bride’s nephew; Brian Hamp, the bride’s brother-in-law; and Bryan Smith, the groom’s brother-in-law.

Stephanie Brock, Caleb Funke and Paiton Chastain, the bride’s niece, were vocalists; and instrumentalists were pianist Paul Scheiderer and violinist Tricia Bowers.

Other attendants were guest registrar Michelle Smith, the groom’s sister; and programs, Caroline Hamp and Paiton Chastain, both nieces of the bride

Sheri Osterman was the wedding coordinator, and Melissa Kaufman was the bridal assistant.

A reception followed at The Pines Evergreen Room in Seymour. Lipstick Blonde band from Nashville, Tenn., provided the music.

After a honeymoon to Venice, Monterosso al Mare, Florence and Rome in Italy, the couple are living in Seymour.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Seymour High School and a 2001 graduate of Samford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She is employed as a physical education teacher at Brownstown Elementary School and is varsity girls’ golf coach at Brownstown Central High School.

He is a 1991 graduate of Seymour High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1991 to 1996. He is employed at Schneider Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. in Seymour.
