Lloyd Hudson and Shirley Wheeler Hudson plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the family center at the First Church of the Nazarene in Seymour. All friends and family are invited. The couple request no gifts.
Lloyd Gene Hudson and the former Shirley Kay Wheeler were married Aug. 9, 1964, at First Church of the Nazarene in Seymour.
The couple have three children, Jennifer (John) Hunnicutt, Jason L. Hudson and Benjamin (Pamela) Hudson; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hudson is a homemaker but was previously employed with Human Services Inc., Anchor House and Seymour Community Schools. She is a lifelong member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Hudson is employed with Seymour Community Schools as a substitute teacher. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and is retired from Cummins Engine Co. and Pro Laminators. He is a Seymour City Council member and president of the Seymour Airport Authority. He has served on the Jackson County United Fund board and is a board member of First Church of the Nazarene, where he also is a lifelong member.
The couple will celebrate their anniversary with a trip to Washington, D.C., and Virginia Beach at a later date.
