Jerry Dean and Monica Dawn “Pixie” Smith Otte, of rural Seymour, plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Hamilton Township. All family and friends are invited to attend.
The couple were married April, 19, 1964, at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, with the Rev. Arthur Krueger officiating.
He is the son of the late Raymond Otte and Evelyn Otte of Seymour. She is the daughter of the late Delores McCord and the late William Smith and stepdaughter of Hilda Hurley of Seymour.
They have five children, Catherine (Rich) Fulton of Highland, Md., Julie (Gregory) Rieker of Columbus, Patrick (Colleen) Otte of Columbia, S.C., Monica Otte of Garland, Texas, and Nathaniel Otte, who is deceased; eight grandchildren, Christoph (Erin) Rieker, Zachary Rieker, Baron Rieker, Steven Rieker, Katarina Rieker, Sarah Otte, Derek Thistlethwaite, and Garrett Fulton; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Rieker and Whitley Rieker.
Jerry is retired from Cummins Inc. after 34 years. He farms and raises registered Angus cattle. Pixie is a homemaker, raised dairy goats and loves to garden.
