The Rev. Neal McCory and Susan McCory celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary March 12, 2014, at Freetown Pentecostal Church.
The couple were married March 12, 1959, at Norman Pentecostal Church by the Rev. E. R. Gray.
They have four children, Sonny Neal (Pam) McCory, Jr., Connie (Tim) Brown, Glenda (Larry) Spall and Rex (Tina) McCory; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He served in the Korean War from 1951-53 and was self-employed for 10 years. He retired from Union Camp after 24 years and from Skaggs-Caudill Builders Inc. after 12 years. She was a homemaker.
Both are members of Apostolic Freetown Pentecostal Church where he served as pastor for more than 30 years. He currently is the presiding bishop for the Church of Jesus Christ Inc.
The McCorys have lived west of Brownstown for 55 years.
