Kenneth Ray and Carol Ann Woodruff Taskey, Seymour, plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday at the Carr Township Conservation Club in Medora.
An open house will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a band consisting of close friends and three nephews. The band will start playing at 7 p.m.
The couple were married March 1, 1964, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers.
They have two children, Darrin Ray Taskey, Ekron, Ky., and his girlfriend, Sarah Brooks, Seymour, and Troy and Terasa (Tracy) Martin, Vallonia; extended family, Matt and Tammy Campbell, Kirkland, and Hector and Guadeloupe (Lupe’) Astudillo, Seymour; three grandchildren, Rachel Marie Taskey, Eli Thomas Martin and Olivia Ann Martin; and their extended family, Taylor, Cameron and Kelly Campbell.
Mrs. Taskey worked in retail before becoming a wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother. She has spent many hours working as a chauffeur and nurse maid for her kids and grandkids.
Mr. Taskey retired from Cummins Inc. after 45 years and continues to work helping his children and grandchildren with different activities.
They both are members of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour, and members of Ogala Saddle Club near Waymansville and are 35 years members of Spurs and Wheels Saddle Club, Brownstown.
They enjoyed many years with a permanent campsite at Broomsage Ranch, North Vernon, and now have a permanent site at Delaney Creek Park, Salem.
They have spent 50 years together being very active, camping, riding horses and wagons, fishing and golf carting with their many friends and family.
