Harold and Dottie Snider recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family at Medora Christian Church.
After two were married on Nov. 2, 1963, by the Rev. Robert Parrish at that church, a reception was conducted at the home of the bride’s parents, Kenneth and Carrie Killion. The groom’s parents were Gerald and Caroline Snider. Rosemary Fountain Hughes was maid of honor, and Tom Hamilton was best man.
The couple’s three children, Paula Snider Berry of Noblesville, Kelly (Dannelle) Snider of Columbus and Wade Nicholas (Meredith) Snider-Vaughn of Bloomington, served as hosts of the anniversary celebration along with their three grandchildren, Christopher (Ariel) Berry, Muncie, Megan Berry, Noblesville, and Benjamin Snider, Bloomington. The couple also have a grandson, Daniel Reese of Noblesville.
Harold Snider retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 39 years and is now employed part time with Claas of America. Dottie Snider taught at Kokomo Business College and, after she married, worked in the Seymour Community Schools system for several years. She also worked at Schneck Medical Center for 8½ years and retired from Jackson Park Physicians after 15 years.
Both are charter members of Community Christian Church of Seymour, where they taught Sunday school classes and held offices. They have attended many Christian churches in the area since the closing of their church in September.
