A Whiteland Community High School junior got a head start on career exploration this summer in Michigan.
Alexis Corda participated in the recent Women in Engineering program on the campus of Michigan Technological University. She joined more than 150 students from 13 states.
Women in Engineering is a competitive scholarship program and weeklong exploration of careers in engineering fields, including mechanical, computer, environmental, electrical, chemical, biomedical, civil, geological and materials.
The students spent the week living in Michigan Tech’s residence halls, eating in the dining halls, exploring campus and meeting students.
