If a fire breaks out in Center Grove near State Road 135 and Stones Crossing Road, the White River Township fire department would have just minutes worth of water to battle the blaze.

That's because the water tower near the intersection, which should contain 30 feet of water, now has just four.

For weeks, Bargersville residents have been using seven million gallons of water per day, which is more than the town's water plant can keep up with, and the increased demand is draining the town's water reserves. All of Bargersville's tanks are low, but the tower at State Road 135 and Stones Crossing Road is critical, Bargersville Utilities Superintendent Michael Davis said.
