A Trafalgar man was arrested after a child called police to report a fight.
Matthew Curry, 30, was arrested on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement.
Curry’s girlfriend called police at 11:30 p.m. Thursday about the fight, and Curry took the phone away and hung it up. The woman’s 8-year-old son then called back, a sheriff’s office report said.
The girlfriend told deputies that Curry came home drunk, was cursing and woke her and her two children up. She went outside to call 911, and he grabbed her arm, leaving a mark, the report said. The woman put her children into a car, and Curry kicked and broke a screen door on their house.
Curry yelled and fought with deputies when they tried to arrest him, the report said.
Curry, 4632 County Road 600W, was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was being held on $3,000 bond.
