Outlook: Meeting for the first time as MIC rivals, the teams clashed in last year’s Class 5A semistate — which visiting Lawrence Central won 28-15 en route to the state championship.
For Center Grove, tonight is its first outing of the season with the No. 1 ranking. The Trojans ascended from No. 2 following the Bears’ loss last week against No. 5 Carmel.
More importantly for the Trojans, the game is an opportunity to take another step forward in the race for the MIC title. They are the only unbeaten team in league play.

Outlook: Whiteland has won two of the past three against New Palestine, including a 26-20 triumph last season.
Both teams feature explosive offenses. Whiteland averages 34 points per game, while the Dragons average 49.
Defensively, however, New Palestine gives up only 7.8 points per game, while Whiteland yields 41.5.
Directions: Take I-465 east to Shadeland Avenue north. Take Shadeland Avenue north to U.S. 52 (Brookville Road) and go east to New Palestine. Look for sign pointing to high school on right.
