Thieves rummage through cars in Franklin

Follow Daily Journal:

Thieves got into four vehicles around downtown Franklin, according to police.

Four residents who live near the intersection of Home Avenue and Wayne Street reported their unlocked vehicles had been entered overnight Sunday. The thieves rummaged through vehicles and took change and a debit card, according to police reports.

Two residents told police that people had rummaged through and thrown things around in their cars, leaving the door open in one case, but didn’t take anything, the reports said. They told police they had nothing in their cars to steal.

Another resident was missing less than a few dollars of change that was taken from an ashtray. A couple got a call from their bank about $16 in unusual out-of-state spending on their debit card, the report said.

No arrests have been made.
